Levan Chaganava is a Georgian calligrapher, graphic designer and web developer, font designer, writer and illustrator of children's books, musician, and composer.
Since 1989, as one of the first Georgian revivalist calligraphers, he has explored the ancient handwriting traditions of his country, as well as found innovative binding techniques, created new patterns, and brought the ancient art of calligraphy to the modern world.
As a founder and chairperson of the Painter-Calligraphers Union of Georgia, Levan Chaganava welcomes young talents to the art of calligraphy, guides them through their creative paths and helps them become professionals. He carries out local and international projects, conducts workshops, and holds exhibitions.
As a graphic designer and web developer, Levan has been working remotely for over 20 years with both large and small corporations as a contractor. He also designs T-shirts and other merchandise for sale in various stores around the world.
Levan Chaganava began to write stories for his children, teaching them the importance of family love and friendship, social relationships and tolerance, lifelong learning and new discoveries. These are the underlying themes of his books, in which the illustrations are also done by him, mostly in vector graphics.
